"Who We Are Is Contingent on What We Remember"

-Lucia Warck-Meister

What's good! I'm Rasheed Peters, a Jamaican-born interdisciplinary artist and media professional based in Chicago.

My work revolves around non-fiction videomaking and installation art, blending new and old media, archival materials, and dialogical practices. I'm passionate about celebrating the richness of Black everyday life and fostering intergenerational cultural exchanges across different parts of the diaspora.

Through my work, I aim to present a more authentic and multifaceted portrayal of Jamaican culture and other marginalized communities, challenging stereotypes and amplifying voices that often go unheard.

My goal is to explore the complexities of identity and heritage through the lens of moving images. I welcome you to explore my digital offering in the pages linked above.
